Welcome! We are delighted to serve as the Event Chairs for the 2011 Red Cross Lifesaver Breakfast. This is Nashville’s premier breakfast event, celebrating the lifesaving mission of the Nashville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and its powerful impact in Middle Tennessee.
Family is our #1 priority, and the Red Cross feels the very same way about the families they strive to serve all over Middle Tennessee. In 2010, the Red Cross was able to serve 1,783 families involved in home fires, the May flood and other disasters, thanks to the generous contributions from this community. It is their obligation and honor to continue to prevent, prepare and respond to emergencies, but they cannot provide this necessary service without you.
It may surprise you to know that the Nashville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross receives no federal funding. Yet, they are charged by the federal government to serve as the primary agency in disaster relief sheltering. That is why, as the only fundraiser, the Lifesaver Breakfast is so important. This event ensures continued support of our local emergency response services.
We are thrilled to welcome Dave Sanderson as our keynote speaker. Dave is a survivor of “The Miracle on the Hudson” flight that crash landed in the Hudson River in 2009. He was the last person off the plane, and tells a harrowing story about the events of that day, and the incredible role the Red Cross played in his survival. His inspirational story is one you will not want to miss!
Please join us on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena. You will be inspired!
Best,
Anne and Joe Russell
